J.S. Jindal, M.D.S.
J.S. Jindal, M.D.S. was appointed to the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board (ADAMH) by the Franklin County Commissioners. His appointment runs through June 30, 2010. Jindal is a retired dentist; he worked for the Ohio Rehabilitation & Corrections Department for 11 years. He spent the beginning years of his career in his home country of India before moving to Chillicothe, Ohio to join his family in 1977. In addition to his dental career, Jindal owned and operated a small business in Columbus before retiring in 2001. Jindal is a founding member of the Spiritual Sadhna Society, an organization dedicated to enhancing spirituality in society, and the Interfaith Association of Central Ohio, an organization that is charged with bridging different religions and faiths. He also serves as a Commissioner on the City of Columbus Community Relations Commission, a board member for the American Red Cross Board of Trustees and is the Director of Shiva Counseling Services, a non-profit organization for teaching and practicing stress reduction techniques for improving family and social relationships. Jindal has two sons, a daughter and eight grandchildren, all living in Columbus.
